Qiaotou youth Li Wen Qin was arrested for participating in the Formosa Magazine Parade on December 10, 1979.
After being imprisoned, he learned how to survive – soaking salt water in rice and stirring it, swallowing it together with the beautiful memories of his lover, A Chun, the joys and sorrows shared with relatives and friends, and the hope and yearning he still has for democracy.
This prison, known as the “Hotel Saltwater”, can imprison the tortured bodies of Wen Qin and his companions, but it cannot imprison their souls who long for freedom.
